To:  Arcata High Class of 1969

We want to take this opportunity to let you know about a very special event that we are working on for this year called Lawnstock 2019. Lawnstock is a local musical event that was created by Zach Zwerdling and his wife Margery eight years ago. It started out as a potluck picnic in Zach’s yard. Friends would be invited to enjoy an afternoon of live music performed by good local musicians. A hat would be passed to raise money for the family of a child with major medical needs. It was a pretty informal affair.

The event grew over the years and the decision was made in 2017 to move Lawnstock to a public venue so that a larger audience could attend and enjoy the show. For the last two years, Lawnstock has took place at the Perigot Park in Blue Lake.

A considerable amount of money was raised at Lawnstock 2018 for the family of a child with a major brain injury. The money will be used to cover the costs involved in treating and transporting these kids for medical care. These are costs that are not usually covered by insurance for such things as housing, transportation, deductibles, lost income etc.

This year Lawnstock 2019 will take place on Sunday, August 18th, 2019 at Perigot Park in Blue Lake. The gates open at 11:00 am, music starts at noon, and goes to 7:00 pm. This is also our class reunion weekend. The Class of 1969 has partnered with Lawnstock, and graduates of the class of 1969 and their families are invited as VIP guests.

Local food and beverages, vendors, raffles and a silent auction are also part of this event. This will be a great opportunity to spend time with old friends and family in a beautiful setting. Plus there will be top notch music, great food and drink all while supporting a local family in need. Entrance to Lawnstock 2019 will be free to our classmates and their families. We look forward to seeing you there! We will keep you updated as our line-up for the day takes shape.

We would like to apologize for allowing a typo to get by us. Please note that GLC Construction should correctly read GLJ Construction. This Blue Lake business will be donating a cord of wood for the silent auction.
