A Benefit for Tyler (Ty Ty) Holt

LAWNSTOCK is a local musical event that was created by Zach Zwerdling and his wife Margery eight years ago. It started out as a potluck picnic in Zach’s yard. Friends would be invited to enjoy an afternoon of live music performed by good local musicians. A hat would be passed to raise money for the family of a child with major medical needs.

Over the years, Lawnstock has benefitted the families of children with serious medical conditions. For example children with cancer, chronic metabolic conditions, and major dog bite scarring to name a few. All of these families have incurred major personal expenses to cover the costs that are not covered by insurance. These costs include transportation, housing in the Bay Area, food and supplies, babysitting and caregiving.

The event grew over the years and the decision was made a few years ago to move LAWNSTOCK to a public venue so that a larger audience could attend and enjoy the show.  LAWNSTOCK 2019 is a DreamMaker project of the Ink People

This year’s beneficiary is seven-year-old Tyler Holt (“Ty-Ty”) who lives in Arcata, California. In 2013, Tyler was diagnosed with an ATRT (Atypical Teratoid Rhabdoid Tumor).  This tumor is on Tyler’s brain stem. Tyler has undergone multiple surgeries to remove the tumor. Unfortunately, it has relapsed on occasion. The most recent operation was in 2016.

LAWNSTOCK 2019 is also hosting Arcata High Class of 1969 Reunion Picnic. Both Zach and Shelley are 1969 graduates of Arcata High! 1969 graduates get free admission

LAWNSTOCK 2019 will take place on Sunday, August 18th, 2019 @ Perigot Park in Blue Lake. The gates open at 11:00 am, music starts @ 12 noon and goes to 7:00 pm, $15 donation.
